Message Board:

1. Smarter Balance Assessment:
State testing continues for grades 3-5 utilizing the computer lab and iPads. Third grade will begin testing on Monday, May 4 from 8:00 am to 10:10 pm. We need to support third grade by minimizing distractions, making the testing devices available to them, and sending and wishing them good testing thoughts. Please work around their testing schedule when signing up for the computer lab or iPads. Thanks for being flexible. I know their hard work and efforts will pay off. Good luck, 3rd grade!

2. Math Training:
A one-day training is being offered between June 8-26 for teachers to learn how the new math textbook resources will support instruction in a CCSS classroom. Training sites will be located in ESC areas. Registration will be available soon on Learning Zone (key words “Summer 2015 Elementary Math). Additional trainings for Technology can be found on the Learning Zone as well.

3. Family Movie Night:
PTA will be hosting Movie Night on Friday. “Paddington” is the featue film for the night. Gates will open at 6:30pm and the movie will begin at 7:00pm. Admission is free, but concessions will be sold as a fundraiser. The movie will be displayed outside, so encourage familes to bring lawn chairs to sit and money to spend. A volunteer sign up sheet will be placed in all staff’s box to support the event.

BUCKET FILLERS: Big Thanks to the following. . .

  • Teachers, for creating a great Spring Dance Festival.
  • PTA, Ms. Arriaga, Ms. Filippelli, Ms. Pena, Ms. Barajas, Teachers, TA’s and the parent volunteers for organizing, setting up, and cleaning up our Spring Dance Festival.
  • Third Grade teachers for helping our students complete the SBAC testing.

    ELD Instruction:
ELD Instruction should be 45-60 minutes daily depending on ELD levels.

All attendance notes need to be cleared timely. If you are not able to clear an absence because three days have past then please send up the notice to the office to clearitimmediately. Whenyou hold on to them and send them up in bulk it takes too much time for office staff to complete and keep updated. Send them up as you get them. Thanks!

    Positive Behavior Support:
Please work on your rules, consequences and rewards. Children must be clear and understand exactly what the expectations are.
