1. Williams Visit:
We had an official Williams Visit on our facilities on Thursday, August 28, 2014. As expected due to everyone’s hard work we passed with a score of 99.4%. Great Job! Our textbook checks continue because we are scheduled for another Williams visit. However, the visit can be announced or unannounced so we must be prepared. As a result of our walk throughs we have found that students have materials, but not all students know the names of their books (ie. Treasures anthology). In addition, students need to know where books are if they are not immediately found in their desk, i.e. “We keep our Health books on the bookshelf." The details help facilitate a smooth inspection. This helps us to make sure all students have equal access to materials. Thanks for your continued work.
2. Grade Level Meetings:
All grade levels should’ve scheduled topics for grade level meetings and bank times or are in the process of completing those schedules. Please make sure you turn in a copy to Mr. Martinez. In addition, grade levels have been identifying performance tasks for identified math envision topics. Please turn those completed tasks in to Mr. Martinez with an expected dated of implementation. Lastly, grade levels should begin to identify the 3 Phase Lesson that will be taught during IBI.
3. Tree People:
The Garden Committee met with the Tree People on Wednesday to discuss a future partnership that will help bring trees, vegetation, and help facilitate our SEEDS grant writing. We look forward to collaborative opportunties for staff, students, and parents to beautify and educate our school community.
4. Items Due:
Child Abuse Certificates
Employee Code of Conduct Certification
Williams Textbook Certification
BUCKET FILLERS: Big Thanks to the following. . .
Thank you to all teachers for being flexible and helpful during the two textbook mock and facilities Williams visits.
Thank you, Ms. Kovnat for organizing the Tree People meeting. Thank you Michelle and Adriana for getting teachers the materials they need.
ELD Instruction should be 45-60 minutes daily depending on ELD levels.
All attendance notes need to be cleared timely. If you are not able to clear an absence because three days have past then please send up the notice to the office to clearitimmediately. Whenyou hold on to them and send them up in bulk it takes too much time for office staff to complete and keep updated. Send them up as you get them. Thanks!
